The parents at Clarendon Preparatory form a formidable partnership with the teachers in ensuring that the girls are provided with the best possible, affordable all round education. The School Governing Body (SGB) is duly elected by parents, teachers and non-teaching staff and has full financial control over the school funds and the administration thereof. In addition, they ensure that an annual budget is presented to the parents and an audit of the finances of the school takes place at the end of each year. The SGB is responsible for the appointment of staff and the running of the school. The election period is 3 years and this falls due at the end of 2009.
The P.T.A. is elected at the beginning of each year and these parents are actively involved in fund-raising for the school. They ensure that any work parties that are needed during the year are manned and they assist in whatever way possible.
Our Mothers’ Committee plays a vital role and the moms do a great deal to assist in the smooth running of the school, particularly with maintaining the attractiveness of the buildings/facilities. Each class has a class representative who works with the teacher and serves on the committee. There are many different portfolios for moms on the mothers’ committee and we look forward to parents being actively involved in the school in the interest of the girls. Please make yourself available if you are willing to be involved in the life of the school. Your daughter will be so proud of you and will really appreciate your support and your efforts. We appreciate a good relationship between the parents and the staff.
